Led by The Facilities Forum founders, Lisa, Nora and Sally, our vision to start a community where women can connect, share knowledge, and grow together in an industry where they are often underrepresented came to life, last Wednesday, on May 1st 2024.
This event, we called our “Launch Lunch” marked an exciting milestone in the facilities, procurement, and property industries. To say it was a success would be an understatement—every seat was filled in the room! A testament to the pressing need for such a community across these industries.

We were fortunate enough to have Rebecca Cleary National EOS Optimisation Manager at JLL share her story as our first guest speaker.
As a mechanical engineer in the 1990s, she shared her unique experiences of balancing her professional career with her passions for rugby and surfboat rowing, often facing significant challenges in a predominantly male industry.
Her story was both inspiring and relatable, highlighting the hurdles and victories faced by women in similar situations.
Rebecca noted, "For women in male dominated fields, it can be hard to see your experience reflected in others or find a sense of place and connection. Thank you Nora Potter, Lisa Macqueen and Sally Hunt for creating a village in which we can thrive. We are stronger together.”
Adding to the success of the day was the exceptional culinary experience provided by RAFI North Sydney (Applejack Hospitality). Their delightful dishes and service contributed to the warm and inviting atmosphere, making the day even more enjoyable.
But of course, none of this would have been possible without the amazing women who joined us. Your presence, energy, and commitment truly made The Facilities Forum what it is—a safe and engaging space where women can empower each other over good food and laughter.
